About the Item
Barovier&Toso style Murano glass Venetian tray, Italy, 1940s. Hand-carved mirror base depicting a scene between a lady and a gentleman surrounded by a fountain, trees and landscaped elements, very typical of the Romantic era. Perimeter formed by two pieces of Murano glass with gold leaf inside, and two brass handles in the shape of a fish. Back of melamine imitation wood and brass details.
Very much in the style of the glass creations of Seguso, Barovier&Toso, Val Saint Lambert, Cristalleries de Sevres and Venini.
Excellent condition, with marks of the passage of time on the edges of the mirror (see photos). No breaks or cracks.
