About the Item
This gorgeous little opalescent shell sugar dish by Northwood dates back to c. 1900. In the Nautilus or Argonaut Shell design, a highly desirable piece, it has maintained its design position as a somewhat contemporary piece, though almost 125 years old. Done in a visually alluring opalescent glass, with a contemporary graphic and textured pattern in the glass that reflects a sea theme, this sugar dish has a wonderful lid that boast a conch shell handle that rests at the top of the crescent. The dish sits on a small nautical patterned shirt at its base. This piece would be a great find for a collector or a fabulous addition to a summer home along the coast.
