About the Item

Vintage musical cookie jar sugar bowl, bonbonniere, candy bowl, biscuit maker "Leaves", glass, brass, Art Nouveau, France, 1970s. The bonbonniere or biscuit jar is very elegant and rare in design: the body of the biscuit maker is made of beautiful green glass, and on top of it there are golden leaves all over the frame. It has a lid that has a wind up musical rhyme, the rhyme stops when the lid is applied and starts as soon as it is lifted off. It's very pretty and also prevents the glass from getting hit! The lid is also decorated with golden leaves. The lid is painted with golden paint. A biscuit jar or candy bowl will become a spectacular element of a festive or everyday table, decorate the decor of your kitchen, and create a unique atmosphere. A great gift idea for antique lovers! Dimensions: Height: 9.4 inch - 24 cm. In great condition. No chips, cracks or crazings.

Victorian Bohemian Harrach Enamel Glass Potpurri Holder with Metal Fitments
By Harrach Glassworks
Located in Worcester Park, GB
Unusual enamelled and gilded Victorian Harrach Potpurri holder with original white metal feet and collar with detachable pierced lid and separate two part inner filter made c1890. With an opaque cream base, it is enamelled with green gilded bands and floral decoration. The container inner lid allows the contents to be closed off, partly closed off or left fully open, ensuring the fragrance is released into the room when only when desired. Harrach has been the backbone of Bohemian, and possibly European, glass for the last 300 years. It proudly celebrates its tri-centenary in 2012. Before Ludwig Moser was allowed to have his own Glassworks he, like almost everyone else in the region, bought his blanks from Harrach. In fact we will probably never know how much glass, supposedly made my other great glass makers of Europe, were in fact made and finished in the Harrach Glassworks. We do know that vast ranges of Legras was made by Harrach, probably under licence and possibly the majority of the glass we think of as Fratelli Tosso...
