About the Item

Tapered glass vase featuring an oval- rim and base model KF 234, designed by Kaj Franck and manufactured during 1955-1964. The colours of these two vases are clear glass with settled blue and purple. Both of the vases are in good condition, some minor scratches and wear consistent with age and use. These pieces were manufactured by the Nuutajärvi-Notsjö glassworks in the years 1956 and 1960 and signed by Kaj Franck. Kaj Franck (1911-1989), was a Finnish pioneer of sustainable development in the art glass area, and the artistic director of the Arabia ceramics company. He was one of the leading figures of Finnish design and an influential figure in design and applied arts between 1940-1980.
