A striking Murano glass “Scavo” vase by Livio Seguso retaining its original Livio Seguso label, produced in Italy in the late 20th century.
This powerful piece is executed in the traditional scavo technique, a complex surface treatment developed in Murano that recreates the appearance of ancient archaeological glass through controlled chemical erosion. The rich orange coloration, combined with the textured, almost volcanic surface, gives the vase a strong sculptural presence and a timeless, organic character.
Livio Seguso is one of the most respected contemporary Murano glass artists, known internationally for his experimental approach to form, color, and surface. His works are widely collected and represented in important private and institutional collections.
The presence of the original Livio Seguso paper label, together with the artist’s signature, adds significant value and authenticity to this work.
