About the Item

Marvelous Bohemian Red-Cut-to-Clear Crystal Hunting Scene Covered Pokal. The pokal consists of a lidded urn-shaped body with a faceted, stepped pedestal base. The glass is red-cut-to-clear crystal, with the red overlay removed in select areas to reveal a clear glass design. The body is decorated with an engraved hunting scene featuring a stag surrounded by trees. The upper section of the body transitions into a scalloped rim with additional engraved details. The lid has a similarly faceted design and tapers upward into a tiered, elongated finial. The finial is composed of stacked, bulbous sections that terminate in a pointed tip. The base is faceted with an octagonal footprint and features a knopped stem with rounded and angular elements. The cutting work creates contrast between the red overlay and the clear sections, defining the decorative scene and structural details. The piece is symmetrical, with precise cuts shaping the design.
