About the Item
A stunning pair of copper clad Riedel green aventurine vases -with the cased copper pieced in a pattern to show a typical Vienna Secessionist design -Green aventurine is a glass colour that Riedel invented is dark green with a noticeable aventurine like sparkle. Each vase is also decorated with a pair of beautifully mounted green pearline glass cabochons -these too would have been made by Riedel
The Copper finish has been left to age giving them a warm brown red finish
Riedel was one of the greatest glass houses in Bohemian they were prized for their amazing colours - which were purchased by most of the glass houses in Europe for most of the 20th century and they were also the centre for the Czech glass bead industry Decedent's of the owners of Riedel now make fine stemware in Austria under the same family name.
