About the Item
Please Note: 4 of these glasses are William Yeoward. This is an estate collection with 13 being period 1800-1810 glasses.
A substantial and well-balanced service of seventeen English drinking glasses, all executed in clear blown glass with the distinctive early 19th-century Lemon Squeezer foot — a square, step-cut base with radiating flutes resembling a citrus press. Each is raised on a short stem terminating in a domed knop, and the bowls are uniformly wheel-engraved with a continuous border of stylised leaf and star motifs. The set is notable not only for its completeness but for its graduated suite of sizes, signalling intended use across the Regency table from wine and water to dessert or liqueur service. The form, cutting style, engraving, and foot profile are consistent with English manufacture, circa 1810.
This suite comprises four distinct sizes:
Largest goblets
Seven examples, likely for wine or water service
Measurements: 5.725" h x 3.75" w
Medium goblets (3 William Yeoward)
Three examples, slightly reduced proportion
Measurements: 5.375" h x 3.375" w
Small wine or dessert glasses (1 William Yeoward)
Three examples, elegant intermediate size
Measurements: 5.125" h x 3.125" w
Cordials / liqueur glasses
Four examples, the smallest and most delicate scale
Measurements: 4.125" h x 2.5" w

Yeoward William "Crystal Collection" Pair of English Crystal Goblets
By William Yeoward
Located in Prato, Tuscany
We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. We have another goblet identical to these that we sell single (posted on 1stdibs).
Iconic and precious crystal goblets; they have been made from the highest quality lead crystal with a thickness that is thick enough to allow them to be ground deeper than normal, which allows the light to reflect in a much brighter and more brilliant manner; for this to happen, the geometry of the grinding has also been specially designed and executed. The glasses are a delightful combination of intricate cuts and engravings and feature some of the most beautiful motifs of the 18th and 19th centuries. Every detail of the decoration, such as the glittering star wheel, is cut entirely by hand, with hours of specialized labor required to complete each piece achieving a very high standard of quality. The glasses were made in London (England) between 1995 and 1996 by the William Yeoward company, whose name they bear on the bottom (see photo), and are one of the most attractive designs in the "William Yeoward Crystal...
