About the Item

Sky Blue Stem Glass in Blown Murano Glass and Gold Leaf 1990s Venice Italy. Entirely handcrafted in the 1990s, this sophisticated stem glass is the result of the finest Murano blown glass technique. It is probably to be attributed to the Venetian glassmaker Maestro Tosi, also nicknamed "Caramea", one of the world's foremost and best-known masters of blown glassware, mostly famous for his refined production of glasses and carafes. The stemware stands out for its magnificent colour, a sky blue that becomes more intense at the base and the bottom of the stem glass and fades to a lighter shade in the bowl, according to the density of the glass. The predominant light blue is interrupted only by the stem of the chalice, made of clear glass decorated with submerged gold leaf, which gives it a precious touch. Complementing this work of art are two small arms of intense light blue glass, which stand out for their elaborate workmanship. No description can do justice to this stem glass, which at first glance reveals its handcrafted nature and the elegant design, bringing a treasure of the typical Venetian glassmaking into your home.
