About the Item

Vintage big, thick and very attractive Murano bowl, made in the "Sommerso" technique where colored layers of glass - in this case blue and yellow - are "submerged" in a crystal clear outer layer. Masters of this technique where designer Flavio Poli and glassmaker Archimede Seguso, whose works earned them the coveted "Compasso d'Oro" award. These fluid shapes, especially, are a recurrent style in Seguso's production, yet being the piece unsigned a certain attribution is difficult. The piece is very well preserved, and thanks to its bright colors and sinuous shapes is a sculpture in its own right; it can, nevertheless, be used as a regular bowl or vide poche. There are no signs of damage, and only an even patina and minor scratches are visible throughout.
