Vintage Bowl or Ashtray in Red Murano Glass and Gold Spangles

We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Graceful and harmonious bowl or ashtray of a shaded red color with gold infusions; the bowl has four sinuous and soft depressions on the edge that make the object particularly attractive and original; it was handcrafted in a small glassworks in Murano (Italy) between 1960 and 1963. The artifact was obtained by blowing by mouth with a special tube the glass mass coming out of the furnace, giving it a first sketched shape, then in the body of molten glass were added metal oxides of sulfur, cadmium and selenium until you reach the red color, at that time, judged right to the expert eye of the craftsman, he provided to sprinkle the glass mass of tiny specks of gold that are dispersed in the glass semi-liquid, at that point the craftsman has modeled hot with special fascinating tools to give him the desired shape, then did a quick annealing in the oven to amalgamate evenly all the material, then the piece was placed in the oven where the tempera has cooled for many hours with skillful slowness and patience; Then, completely free of heat, it was taken to the milling department where expert artisans proceeded to smoothing, finishing and finally to polishing; a small work of art created with a magical mastery and unparalleled ability by a great master craftsman in a magical, fascinating and artistic place: an artisan furnace in Murano. The realization of this object confirms that the Venetian aptitude, celebrated over the centuries, for working with glass is an alchemical combination of liquid matter processed by clever craftsmen with happy artistic intuition. The bowl is in excellent condition. Measures diameter cm.20, height cm.8. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
