About the Item
A superb four-piece German carving and game bird set by Anton Wingen Jr., Solingen, under the “Othello” mark, finely presented in the original green faux-lizard case with ruched satin interior. This collectible set dates to the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1960s) and showcases the exceptional quality for which Solingen – the “City of Blades” – is renowned.
Each tool features genuine polished stag antler handles with nickel silver ferrules and carved caps, paired with finely detailed stainless steel (rostfrei) blades and tools. The carving knife and fork bear beautifully etched and gilded decoration, with the classical Othello head hallmark stamped to the steel. The set includes a rare pair of game shears, also signed “Othello – Solingen”.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Very good vintage condition. Blades show light surface wear and faint scratches appropriate to age. Etched and gilded decoration remains crisp. Antler handles are smooth, with natural patination and no cracks.
