Superb set of 24 fruit, dessert, cheese, or hors d’oeuvre knives, crafted by Maison Cardeilhac, founded in 1804. This set, dating from the first half of the 19th century, showcases exceptional silversmithing expertise, with finely worked vermeil blades and ferrules. The ferrules are delicately sculpted with stylized vegetal motifs and heart-shaped friezes, enhanced by a polished gold finish on the raised elements, highlighting every detail with remarkable finesse. The abalone mother-of-pearl handles display a unique iridescence, shifting with the light to reveal shimmering shades of blue, gray, green, and pink. Through this rare and exquisite set, Cardeilhac embodies the excellence of French silversmithing and the timeless elegance of Parisian art de vivre. A refinement that transcends time, bringing sophistication to the finest tables. A refined set, full of charm and history, that will add an incomparable touch of elegance to your table. Good condition: the knives are solid, with minor surface scratches, light signs of use, and some stains (see photos). Each blade bears a hallmark. Presented in its original box, beautifully decorated with gilded patterns of foliage and flowers in relief, and featuring its original label: "Cardeilhac, Fabricant de coutellerie à Paris." Box in used condition.
