A very fine and scarce French pair silver Baptismal oil containers in its original leather fitted travelling case dating from 1850. The two cylindrical shaped oil containers are conjoined and both have tight fitting covers mounted with crosses. The oil containers have engraved initials OC and SC probably denoting oil and incense which would have been used in the baptismal ceremony. The identical lids too are similarly marked to ensure that these are not mixed up. The containers appear to have a slightly gilded finish to the interior and the oil containers are engraved to the bases and date 1850. Here is a very attractive mid-century ice bucket by Italian designer Aldo Tura. This model is in a beautiful red parchment with brass accents. Although the metal is brass, it has almost more of a warm silver tone--only pointing this out for accuracy--the pictures show the color fairly accurately. The glass liner is intact. There are some scratches to the parchment (the deepest is shown in a photo) and the brass has some roughness and minor pitting--mostly on the lid. None of these imperfections take away from the overall presentation of this unique piece.
The ice bucket measures just over 11" high with the handle raised and 8.5" to the top of the lid's pull. At its widest, it measures 7.75". The goatskin cube...

A magnificent, fine and impressive, antique George V glass, English sterling silver and skin Leather mounted hip flask.
This magnificent antique George V sterling silver hip flask has a rectangular form with rounded corners.
The upper portion of the large glass body is ornamented with an impressive skin covering.
This impressive flask is fitted with a plain domed fully hallmarked hinged cover, securing with a bayonet fitting.
This Lskin hip flask retains the original hallmarked push fit drinking cup.
Marked English Sterling Silver J.D & S into a shield, James Dixon & Sons, London 1902.
Business established in 1806 in Silver Street, Sheffield by James Dixon in partnership with a Mr. Smith. The firm became James Dixon & Son (1823), James Dixon & Sons (1835c.) and James Dixon & Sons Ltd in 1920. London showrooms were opened in London (1873), Sidney and Melborne (1912).
