About the Item

A fine pair of George III Salt Cellars made in London in 1792 by Robert Hennell. The Salts stand on a circular, stepped, oval, pedestal foot, with reeded base. The "Boat" shaped main body also displays a reeded rim and an onslow pattern carrying scroll at each end. The sides are pierced and engraved with wavy scrolls and the front of the main body displays a contemporary Crest. The Salts each have a blue glass liner and are fully marked in the foot. Additional information: Height: 2.5 inches, 6.25cm. Length: 4.7 inches, 11.75cm. Width: 2.4 inches, 6cm.
