About the Item
Exceptional and highly decorative barbotine ceramic pitcher in the form of a parrot, produced by the renowned Saint-Clément Manufactory and dating from the 1920s. This model, referenced No. 897, is a fine example of early 20th-century French ceramic craftsmanship.
The piece features a beautifully sculpted parrot with expressive detailing and a vibrant polychrome glaze, combining shades of green, yellow, blue, and soft pink. The glossy finish enhances the depth of the modeling and gives the object a lively, almost animated presence.
Both functional and decorative, this pitcher can be used as a carafe, a vase, or displayed purely as a sculptural object. It fits perfectly within bistro-style interiors, eclectic settings, country houses, or a cabinet of curiosities, and makes a striking accent piece on a dining table or sideboard.
Very good condition. The glaze and colors are well preserved. Minor signs of age consistent with time, with no cracks or visible restoration.
A rare and characterful French ceramic piece, rich in charm and history, ideal for collectors and lovers of decorative arts and whimsical design.
