About the Item
This is an antique pitcher for tea ceremony made in Japan around 1920s (Taisho era). And made with Copper. This pitcher has a signature on the bottom, written Kinyoudou.
This kind of pitchers are called 'Mizusashi' in Japanese. A mizusashi is a tool used to hold water needed for the tea ceremony. It is used to adjust the temperature of the tea and to rinse the tea bowl and Chasen (bamboo whisk for making Japanese tea).
