About the Item
A late Victorian antique silver-plated pitcher by Haddon, late 19th century. A relatively ornate and gloriously elegant relic of the late Victorian period, this piece was used in artist Paul Sepuya’s 2021 - 2023 project “Daylight Studio / Dark Room Studio” which was exhibited internationally in Los Angeles, Switzerland, France and the UK.
Paul Mpagi Sepuya (b. 1982, San Bernardino, CA) is a Los Angeles-based artist working in photography. Sepuya’s work is in the permanent collections museums like the Getty and LACMA, SFMOMA, MoMA, the Whitney and thee Guggenheim, the Studio Museum, Stedelijk Museum, Tate Modern and Victoria
Albert Museum, and among others. Solo museum exhibitions include Fotomuseum Amsterdam, Deichtorhallen PHOXXI in Hamburg, and museum surveys at Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, Nottingham Contemporary in the UK and an upcoming exhibition at Fotomuseum Winterthur, Switzerland. His work has been covered and published in ARTFORUM, Aperture, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Art Review, Frieze, Art in America, Monocle, Osmos, The Nation, and The Guardian among others.
