About the Item

Rare antique blue-tinted glass soda siphon, dating to around 1900, made for the establishment A. Chevalier, located in Villars-les-Dombes, Ain (01), France. This siphon features a thick glass bottle with a beautiful blue hue, decorated with an acid-etched inscription reading “A. Chevalier – Villars-les-Dombes”, an authentic testament to its professional use in the tradition of cafés, brasseries, and beverage establishments at the turn of the 20th century. The original metal head, also bearing the Chevalier stamp, with lever and spout, retains a richly decorative aged patina, emphasizing the industrial and utilitarian character of the piece. The overall form is elegant and emblematic of siphons from this period. Good condition, with signs of use and patina consistent with age; sold as a decorative object. An iconic object of French bistros and brasseries, this siphon will fit perfectly into a vintage, industrial, or eclectic interior, whether displayed on a bistro table, shelf, bar, or within a collection of objects related to café history. An authentic and history-rich piece, with strong decorative presence.
