About the Item

Edition : 500 ex. Maker : Madoura Catalog : [Ramié 288, p. 150] In the bright light of Vallauris, Picasso is inspired by Suzanne Ramié's Madoura workshop. The Spanish artist redefines the boundaries between traditional craftsmanship and modern art with his Visage pitcher. The black and ochre curves, painted on light-colored clay, recall both the popular pottery of his childhood and his lively, spontaneous line. Halfway between functional object and sculpture, this jug transcends its practical use to become a work of art in its own right. The marriage of utilitarian object and creative gesture reflects Picasso's goal at the height of his career: to make his art accessible. Very good condition Ref : LCD7341
