About the Item

Medallion coin silver water pitcher. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1860. Globular bowl on raised and stepped foot; tall straight neck and helmet mouth. Straight and high-looping handle; scroll cap with Classical female rondel profile and entwined tendril and flowerhead bottom mount. Bowl has girdle comprising 4 same rondels applied to dart band on lined ground. Marked with maker’s and retailer’s (Harry R. Smith Co.) stamps and no. 211. Weight: 35 troy ounces.
