Two silver pitchers set. Benito Gómez, Antonio. Segovia, Spain, 1831-1835.
Located in Madrid, ES
Pair of pitcher jugs. Silver. BENITO GOMEZ, Antonio (1775-1835). Segovia, Spain, 1801-1835.
With contrast markings.
Pair of spouted jugs with a circular base with moldings, a low conical foot and a tubular body finished in a hemisphere at the bottom and with a flat molding at the top; the handle, in double ce, presents a simple scroll or branch that rests towards the mouth of the piece; the beak shows a simple decoration. Typologically, this pair is linked to a type of spouted jug that, with variations, is common in Hispanic domestic silverware from the first half of the 17th century to the beginning of the 18th century, also found after this date. As usual, the civil model was quickly assimilated by religious silverware, especially for its use in liturgical cruets. Antonio Benito Gómez (1775-1835) was a silversmith who worked in Segovia from at least 1801 until he died, and was also a silver marker carved between 1824 and 1828, and between 1831 and 1835. Son of the silversmith Juan de la Cruz Benito , several works by his hand have been preserved: baptismal shell...

William Ridgway English Staffordshire Transferware Platter, Flosculous Pattern
Located in Philadelphia, PA
A black on white transfer printed floral platter in the Flosculous pattern, William Ridgway & Co., Shelton, Hanley, Staffordshire England, circa 1830-1854.
A gently scalloped black-printed platter in an unusual borderless pattern. Alternating floral sprays extend outward — from a three part scroll motif in the center — up the well and onto the rim of the plate. The term ‘flosculous’ means having flowerets or composite-flowered. This stylized pattern feels very modern.

Masons Ironstone Jug or Pitcher in rare Cashmire Ptn, William 1Vth Ca 1833
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is a good, Mason's ironstone hydra jug with a snake handle in the Cashmire De Thibet pattern dating to the William 1Vth English 19th century period, circa 1832-1836
The jug has an octagonal hydra shape with a snake handle.
This pattern is not often seen. It is called "Cashmire De Thibet" and is illustrated on page 60 of the book; A Guide To Mason's Patent Ironstone Patterns, published by The Mason's Collectors' Club.
The jug is unmarked to the base as was sometimes the case, but is definitely by Mason's Ironstone as they were the only manufacturer to produce a jug in this shape with this pattern and dating to the English William 1Vth period circa 1832-1836.
Overall a very nice Masons Hydra Jug or Pitcher in a rare pattern.
Notes on the pattern.
This unusual name of "Cashmire De Thibet" was a name applied circa 1832-1836, to summer scarves...

William IV Hall Marked Silver Claret Jug by Benjamin Smith
Located in Montreal, QC
Made in London in 1832, this jug is both useful and ornemental. Raised on an elegant foot and fluted stem, the baluster body swells to a pounced ground repoussee with floral garlands, in turn surmounted by an acanthus band, a motif reiterated by the handle. There is an inscription around the foot that reads" A parting tribute of grateful respect and esteem to the Rev.d Mourant Brock MA from a member of his late congregation, at the Abbey Church Bath. 1854. There is a further inscription "Goldsmith to the Queen, Bath"
Unusually it is offered with an oak, blue velvet lined carrying case with a campaign type countersunk handle.
The recipient was born in 1802 and died in 1883.
Bath was a fashionable Spa town in Somerset, much patronised by high society.
The Queen mentioned could be William IV's consort, Adelaide of Saxe Meinegen but is probably Victoria Since the presentation was made 22 years after the hallmark.
Benjamin Smith...
