About the Item

An orangeade glass pitcher by René Lalique, model Blidah (no. 3177), showcases the master’s signature opalescent glasswork. The Blidah pitcher by René Lalique, introduced in 1931, is a distinguished example of Art Deco glassware. This piece has the distinction of being an elegant piece, and it contributes two common themes for Lalique's work: the use of frosted and clear glass to create a textured surface and the signature Lalique motif of stylized fruit and leaves. Documented in Félix Marcilhac’s Catalogue raisonné (p. 745), the model was originally created in 1931 and remained in production until 1947. Take into account that the colors on the items may vary depending on the type of lighting and the type of screen from which you see the images.
