About the Item
Antonio Neri, an Italian glassmaker, is credited with first creating cranberry glass in 1612 by adding gold to molten glass. The recipe was later rediscovered or independently developed by others, with the Johann Kunckel in Potsdam also mentioned as a key figure in the 17th century.
This Victorian-era cranberry glass pitcher showcases hand-blown craftsmanship.
The deep red glass features a distinctive diamond ridge pattern that catches and reflects light beautifully.
The clear glass handle demonstrates skilled glassblowing techniques with its smooth, rounded design.
The authentic pontil mark on the base confirms its hand-blown heritage.
Standing almost 8 inches tall, this pitcher combines historical significance with practical functionality.
