A fine and impressive antique German silver mirrored plateau; an addition to our presentation silverware collection.
This impressive antique German silver mirrored plateau has an oval swept form with a collet style rim.
The plain 800 standard silver surface of this mirrored plateau is encircled with a band of applied bead decoration.
The upper surface of this plateau is fitted with an oval mirror.
This piece retains the original velvet covered base and is supported by four ball feet.
The hallmarks struck to the rim of this impressive piece include:
Maker's mark: M. H. Wilkens
So¨hne.
National mark: Crescent moon and crown.
Silver quality/purity mark: .800 (800/1000).
Registration number: 172058.
Condition
This antique centrepiece is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition in keeping with use. There are some minor surface blemishes in keeping with age and use. The glass plateau is in perfect condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface and part hallmarks to the applied decoration are all very clear.
