About the Item

Dress a dining room, breakfast nook, or kitchen wall with this vibrant antique French Majolica charger crafted in France circa 1860 and decorated in the Louis XV taste. Circular in form, the large porcelain platter features a richly hand-painted fête champêtre tableau, depicting elegantly dressed children gathered outdoors near a pond, rendered in lively tones of pink, blue, gold, and green. The scene is framed by a deep cobalt blue border with a fine gilt line that enhances the composition’s warmth and pastoral charm. The reverse bears the impressed mark “L. M. Cie,” further authenticating its 19th-century French origin. In excellent condition commensurate with age and use, this colorful charger will serve beautifully as a table centerpiece or as wall décor adding softness, history, and cheerful color to any interior.
