A richly detailed 19th-century Indian brass platter featuring finely hand-embossed decoration in an elongated rectangular form. This ceremonial or decorative panel depicts a lush, densely patterned field of scrolling vines, foliage, and fruit, framing a central tableau of Hindu deities and sacred animals in a pastoral setting.
Three central figures, likely representations of Krishna and accompanying devotees, are set among two cows, trees, and celestial sun and moon faces, all surrounded by an intricate floral border. The repousse work is exceptionally fine, displaying deep relief and extraordinary attention to detail.
Its unusual proportions and stylized iconography suggest it may have served as a temple offering tray, wall plaque, or ceremonial altar panel.
