About the Item
From France, a piece of hand made terra cotta pottery, an oval olive server, circa 1950 – 1960.
Rustic in form, charmingly hand decorated, the green lined rim shows an overlapping wavy line running border in orange and green, on a glazed yellow ground particular to Provençal pottery.
A central painted image of a sprig of black olives and their green leaves.
The rear backing is left unglazed, revealing the natural color of the clay.
