About the Item
A very unusual George III Neo Classical Cream Pail made in London in 1772 by Robert Hennell.
The Cream Pail has slightly tapering sides, gadrooned rim, and slightly spreading foot. The sides are pierced with unusual Neo Gothic designs, in addition to Neo Classical laurel leaf swags. This is the first time we have seen this specific design of Cream Pail. This example has an arched twisted ropework handle and is fully marked on the side of the main body. The pail is in excellent condition and has a blue glass liner.
