About the Item

This is a sometsuke plate by Tachikichi (Company name). It was made around 1970s in Showa era in Kyoto, Japan. Sometsuke is a ceramic made by painting a pattern with a paint mainly composed of cobalt oxide and then heating it at high temperature while applying a transparent glaze. It is mainly made of porcelain and the pattern develops into indigo blue. Tachikichi was founded in 1752 in Kyoto. On the bottom of this plate, there are signature written 'Tachikichi'. Dimensions: 30 x 30 x 3 cm.
