About the Item
George III sterling silver tray. Made by Paul Storr in London in 1810. Oval well, serpentine shoulder, and gadrooned rim interspersed with leaves. Two engraved armorial emblems, each inset with centaur and encircled with the motto of the Order of the Garter: Honi soit qui mal y pense. The Order of the Garter is the senior most order of knighthood in Great Britian and comprises no more than 24 members plus the sovereign and heir. Fully marked. Heavy weight: 117 troy ounces.

Paul Storr
