About the Item

Coalport Porcelain Dish Painted with the Dollar Pattern, Circa 1810 The large oval Coalport porcelain dish is painted in the Dollar Pattern which is a Regency interpretation of the Japanese Kakiemon patterns. The center has an oval panel with a flowering stem in green, iron-red, and purple. This is within the border of orange with a gold zig-zag line. The outer section of the dish has four large panels with an orange ground with stylized gold flowering stems and the other four panels, shaped like a vase, have a white ground with a flowering tree with a green design that has been called the Dollar Pattern. The base has an unglazed central pad with an underglaze blue double circle. The rim with stylized orange flowers and a continuous band, also in orange, of double leaves. Dimensions: 14 1/4 inches wide x 11 inches deep x 1 1/4 inches high. (Ref: NY10403-kmr)
