About the Item

Decorate a kitchen wall, a breakfast room or a restaurant with this large and colorful antique platter. Crafted in France circa 1870 and round in shape, the charming hand painted porcelain plate features a "Basse Cour" composition depicting a sweet cat looking at young chicks grazing. Wonderful details throughout the painting. The important charger is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn colorful and vivid colors; the plate is further embellished with a band of gold leaf decor around the rim. Original hanging devise in the back for easy installation. Stamped J. P. France on the underside for further authentication. 20" diameter
