This is a stunning and unique antique Berlin framed porcelain plaque, circa 1870 in date. This magnificent plaque is oval in shape with an exquisite gilded cast and pierced ormolu frame which borders a spectacular central hand painted portrait of a delightful and charming young woman in costume. The young lady is depicted in bright vibrant colours and is finished in great detail to the highest of standards. She wears an intricate hat with beautiful shiny pearls and the various red and green nuances of her dress are shown in all their glory. The lady is featured against a gilded background, which adds extra elegance to this splendid piece. Add this beautiful item to your collection with this rare and unique piece to your collection. A Very Fine Berlin (KPM) Porcelain Plaque Of A Young Woman, In a Giltwood Frame. The plaque has an impressed KPM sceptre mark to the reverse with impressed number 315_255 and a letter H. A paper label for the studio of 'Franz Xavier Thallmaier, Mucnich'. This fine KPM plaque is superbly painted with a portrait bust of a young woman holding a music scroll and a laurel branch, possibly representing St. Cecilia. The plaque is set in a giltwood frame. Franz Xaver Thallmaier (1890-1910) established in Munich in 1890 one of the most prominent and successful porcelain painting studios in Germany.
