Wonderful collection of Chinese porcelain cricket boxes or cricket cage. These boxes were used to house and care for crickets, a popular pet in Chinese culture.
The box is all feature hand-painted scenes, with courtyard or garden scenes. The lids typically features air holes for the cricket. These boxes are considered antiques, with many dating back to the Qing dynasty or Republic period. Perfect displayed on a bookshelf, coffee or side tables.
