About the Item

A fine antique Vieux Paris porcelain hand painted dessert set comprised of a pair of footed hand painted serving stands and eight hand painted dessert plates. French, 19th century Each dessert stand with a subtly shaped gilt edged white porcelain bowl and a central hand painted bouquet of roses, dahlias, gerbera daisies and forget-me-nots in polychrome tones of delicate pink, purple, orange, light blue and multiple shades of green. Strikingly, the underside of each bowl is also hand painted with a pair of large and a pair of small bouquets, as is the foot of each stand. The eight plates each featuring a central hand painted bouquet of flowers with a gilded edge. Very good condition. No evidence of repairs, chips or cracks noted. Surface wear to gilding consistent with age and use as shown in photos. Beautiful for display and a delight for dessert.
