About the Item
Exquisite pair of large Arita porcelain or Imari porcelain plates or trays. Arita porcelain or Imari porcelain is the Western name for porcelain products made in the town of Arita. It dates back to the 17th century, when a Korean artisan discovered a kaolin deposit in the Arita region in 1616. It should be noted that, before this discovery, all ceramics in Japan were imported from China and Korea. Korean firing techniques were then combined with Chinese influences in the designs. It is also known as Imari porcelain, since it was exported from the port of Imari in the 17th century. Early productions were characterized by their elaborate cobalt blue designs on a white background, as in the case of this pair. The pattern features an intricate and stylized floral design in that deep cobalt blue on a white background, a classic motif in Arita's production. These pieces reflect the high quality of Japanese porcelain.

Exquisite Fitzhugh pattern porcelain plate or tray, inlaid in a cabinet that highlights its oval profile and raised on four slightly curved square legs.
The term "Fitzhugh" refers to a type of Chinese export porcelain produced primarily between 1780 and 1840, featuring blue and white designs. It originated with three members of two generations of the Fitzhugh family. Members of this family held important positions as ship captains and even as directors in the British East India Company. Within this company, high-ranking officials were allowed to engage in private trade. Between 1704 and the 1790s, porcelain pieces bearing this pattern were shipped to England.
The design usually includes a central medallion, although it is occasionally replaced by a coat of arms or monogram. The medallion is surrounded by four groupings of flowers representing the four seasons—peony for spring; lotus for summer; chrysanthemum for autumn; and prunus for winter—and symbols that typically represent the four virtues of the Chinese scholar: music, painting, logical thinking, and calligraphy. The design is framed with a decorative border that may be a lattice and spearhead pattern, sometimes known by the term "Nanking," or a more elaborate border featuring butterflies, honeycomb shapes, and floral ornamentation. The definition of the Fitzhugh porcelain...

Romantic orange green Quinta Nova Porcelain Dinnerware set 43 pieces
By Vista Alegre
Located in Valladolid, ES
Gorgeous porcelain tableware from the Portuguese firm Quinta Nova, renowned for its fine porcelain. Its meticulously painted floral design combines warm tones of orange and green on a pearly white background, evoking a romantic yet contemporary touch. The edges of the pieces feature a wavy shape with a fine gold trim, enhancing their decorative character. The floral ornamentation, with intertwined branches and flowers in full bloom, recalls 19th-century botanical motifs, inspired by Rococo art and Victorian design. The balance between the gold details and the softness of the floral brushstrokes make this tableware ideal for a more classic decor style or a more modern setting. Stamped on the base of each piece.
