About the Item

Canton porcelain plate mounted in chiseled and gilt bronze. Central decor of an Asian scene representing two men and a woman around a table and a third man hidden behind a door. They are on a house deck, overlooking a garden. White marli framed by two gilt edgings. Rim with a gilt background decorated with butterflies, chrysanthemum, peonies, lotus flowers and hydrangeas. Mount circling the plate in a beaded swirl shape, adorned with two birds that face each other and standing four satyrs head and goat paws legs. Interlinked laurel leaved come to form a handle. Work realized during the 19th century.
