About the Item
DERBY (William Duesbury II period) - Imari Pattern - Exceptional early soft paste porcelain dessert service - featuring hand painted Japanese style decoration in iron red, underglaze blue, navy blue and green with elaborate gold gilding - the eighteen piece set comprised of a large twin handled fruit bowl or centerpiece (decorated to the underside as well), a pair of shell shaped serving dishes with handles, a pair of large lozenge shaped serving bowls, another slightly smaller lozenge shaped serving bowl, along with twelve plates - signed in red on the base of each piece with crossed batons beneath a crown and the letter D - United Kingdom - circa 1806-1825.
Excellent antique condition - minor rubbing/gilding loss - one lozenge shaped serving dish with a crack - firing faults and one firing crack - no chips - no loss - no restoration - signs of age and use.
Large Fruit Bowl - Dimensions - 11 5/8" Wide x 9" High x 4 1/2" Deep.
Pair of Shell Shaped Serving Dishes - Dimensions - 9 1/2" Wide x 9 3/4" High x 1 7/8" Deep (Each).
