About the Item

Rare Richard Ginori cup and saucer set was made of fine porcelain in Italy. It is decorated with Maiolica pattern, sometimes referred to as Birds of Paradise by collectors; the pattern can be found on Ginori pieces with marks dating to 1900-1930s, suggesting that it's been created sometimes in early 20th century. It depicts mythical birds and urns in green and yellow palette. The saucer has delicately fluted rim with raised accent, and the cup has similar raised accent, but doubled, along the rim. Both cup and saucer rims are decorated with gold bands; cup's handle has all-over gold decor. Both cup and saucer are marked with green "Richard Ginori" mark with the crown, that was in use in second half of 20th century; use of the older blanks suggest 1950s-1960s as most probable manufacture date.
