About the Item
Set of 3 vintage or antique porcelain stacking serving bowls and a small pitcher features octagonal forms with twin handles on the bowls; it is decorated in Mogul pattern with yellow, gold, blue, and pink band on the rims of the bowls and on the shoulder of the pitcher, floral vignette n the centers of the bowls, and heavy gold trim on the handles. The graphic bands of decor, strongly influenced by Chinoiserie and Chinese Chippendale styles, juxtapose the decidedly Art Deco forms of the pieces, creating an unexpectedly festive presentation.
The set is marked with Theodore Haviland France underglaze manufacturer's mark in green, Theodore Haviland Limoges France overglaze decorator mark in red, and pattern name in green overglaze. The manufacturer marks date to 1920-1936; the decorator mark dates to 1925. The set is in good antique or vintage condition with minimal wear that is appropriate to its age.
The elegant form, high quality craftsmanship, and striking decoration will make the set a great gift to a collector or a design enthusiast and a perfect addition to a wide range of tablescapes and interiors, from Traditional to Victorian, Arts and Crafts, Transitional, Modern Country, Hollywood Regency, Art Deco, Glam, Collected, Eclectic, or Contemporary.

Roman Erlikh
Roman Erlikh is a professional woodworker with over 20 years’ experience. Roman Erlikh Studio creates bespoke and limited edition contemporary furniture and art objects. His first furniture collections were inspired by traditional Art Deco and Biedermeier styles interpreted through a modern lifestyle demands. Stepping away from merely utilitarian view of everyday objects, his recent collections are filled with meaningful textual context while incorporating traditional and modern woodworking techniques. Roman is using practical function as a common denominator to create emotionally charged art objects, blurring the boundary between art and function. While appreciating possibilities of ordinary materials, Roman is developing new mixed media multilayered composite varnishes and utilizes decorative gilding and mica veneer to actively engage ambient light, giving an additional aspect to relation of his objects to their environment. The decision to work in custom format was based on environmental concerns and opposition to culture of mass production and pure consumerism. The choice of materials was heavily influenced by sustainability and environmental concerns. All objects are made locally in the Brooklyn Navy Yard workshop. Elimination of storage and transportation needs for mass-produced furniture in lieu of creating a custom made objects on demand allows us to reduce waste of materials and energy.

Haviland Limoges Hand Painted Art Deco Porcelain Plates Water Lilies
By Haviland
Co.
Located in Clifton Springs, NY
Set of 4 unique, antique plates was made by Haviland
Cie in Limoges, France. The plates were hand painted by a professional artist in a decorating studio with Art Deco motif of five water lilies on pale blue background. Calm blue and green colors are accentuated by bright yellow centers of the flowers and the gold rims.
The advent of Arts and Craft Movement created the notion that the aesthetic quality of everyday utilitarian objects could be improved by merit of craftsmanship, and many painters and artists felt inspired to merge their activities into decorative arts, such as ceramics, decor objects, or dinnerware. Large number of wholesale and retail firms, such as Pickard, Stouffer, or Brauer studios, and many high-end department stores that carried factory decorated Limoges's porcelain, had their own china decorating departments and produced high quality hand painted porcelain. Haviland Limoges Hand Painted Pair of Porcelain Cups
Saucers, France 1894-1931
By Haviland
Co.
Located in Clifton Springs, NY
Set of 2 demitasse cups and 2 saucers was made by Haviland
Cie in Limoges, France. The Art Deco style form of a footed cups, with 3 small ball feet, is rather rare and hard to find, especially in coffee or demitasse size. In this set the pieces were hand painted by a professional artist in a decorating studio with Victorian style motif of pink English roses. Calm light pink and green colors are accentuated by bright gold rims and gold trim on handles and ball feet; crisp white color of semi-translucent porcelain showcases the soft, delicate decor without overpowering it.
The pieces are marked with green underglaze manufacturer mark Haviland France that dates to 1894-1931. The set is in very good antique condition with minimal wear on gold that is appropriate to its age.
