This oval-shaped porcelain vase from the Japanese manufacturer Franklin Porcelain, “Meadowland Bird,” was designed by Basil Ede (1931-2016) in 1981; with a 22-carat gold rim and is marked on the underside.
About the artist:
Basil Ede (1931-2016) was an English wildlife artist specialized in avian portraiture and the founder member of Society of Wildlife Artists and a active supporter of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
