We invite you here to look at a splendid Meissen set of dinner plates for six persons: This set is of finest appearance due to gorgeous and quite rare as well as famous swan decor. Manufactory: Meissen. First quality. Marks: There is at reverse side of each plate blue Meissen Sword Mark (underglazed) of middle of 20th century with various former's painter's numbers existing. Dating: Middle of 20th century | based on original models. Material: White porcelain, glossy finish, partially golden painted. Technique: Handmade porcelain. Designer: Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775) / since 1731 modeller of Meissen manufactory, he is one of the best modellers Meissen manufactory ever had. Kaendler designed the swan service (assisted by Modellers Johann F. Eberlein and Johann G. Ehder) during the years 1737-1741 by order of count heinrich of bruehl (1700-1763): The count of Bruehl was prime minister of elector and polish king august III. The strong. - The famous swan service originally consisted of more than 2.200 single parts / Meissen manufactory was busy for five years in order to produce the parts of Swan Service. It existed completely for over 200 years, until it was partially destroyed as well as scattered all over the world, caused by circumstances of Second World War. Decoration: In middle area there is relief decor visible, depicting swimming swans, surrounded by sea landscape (for example reeds etc.) Outstanding shape! Additionally, the plates' edged scalloped areas are decorated with scattered small flower's blossoms with leaves | they are framed by golden paintings and large golden initial 'K' is visible on each plate, too. Measures: Diameter: 24.5 cm | 9.64 inches. Height: 3.5 cm | 1.37 inches. Condition: Excellent.
