About the Item

Meissen, coffee pot with lid, Vine-Leaf Pattern, “Voller grüner Weinkranz” Porcelain coffee pot with lid from Meissen, decorated in the classic Vine-Leaf Pattern (“Voller grüner Weinkranz”) with green vine leaves and winding tendrils in underglaze. The decoration is executed with precise, lively brushstrokes that elegantly follow the flowing form of the pot. The lid is topped with a knob in the shape of a vine leaf, while the decorative handle and spout emphasise the overall harmonious balance. Manufacturer: Meissen, Germany Pattern: Vine-Leaf Pattern / “Voller grüner Weinkranz” Period: 20th century Material: Porcelain, underglaze decoration in green Dimensions: H. 21 cm, W. 16 cm (including handle) Condition: In fine condition. Second quality Marking: Blue crossed swords under the base A beautiful example of Meissen’s long tradition of hand-painted porcelain, where inspiration from nature and refined craftsmanship meet in timeless harmony. About Meissen and the Vine-Leaf Pattern: Meissen Porcelain, founded in 1710, was Europe’s first porcelain manufactory and quickly became renowned for its unparalleled craftsmanship and artistic innovation. Among the factory’s many iconic patterns is the Vine-Leaf Pattern, in German Voller grüner Weinkranz, introduced around 1817 by Johann Samuel Arnhold. The decoration with green vine leaves and trailing tendrils became one of Meissen’s most popular motifs and continued well into the 20th century. The pattern reflects the manufactory’s fascination with natural ornamentation and the precise hand-painted tradition that has made Meissen a symbol of European porcelain artistry.
