About the Item

Early and rare piece From The Meissen/Germany Manufactory Dating: made circa 1740 Material: white porcelain, glossy finish Technique: handmade porcelain, finest painting Specifications: Very early Meissen tea pot circa 1740. The belly of the jug is decorated with two large flower arrangements, the lid is crowned by a sculptural colored flower, as well as smaller flowers in Camaieu painting. The spout is designed as an animal head, decorations also on the 'J'-shaped handle. The lid is attached to the handle by a chain, metal mounting also on the lid opening of the jug. Size: height 4.52 inches / 11.5 cm width 7.48 inches / 19.0 cm depth 3.93 inches / 10.0 cm Marks: Blue Meissen Crossed Sword Mark of the early 18th century Condition: excellent according to age.
