About the Item

A lovely teapot of model "The Chinese Teapot" designed by Signe Persson-Melin at Rörstrand. The teapot is 26 cm (10,4") long and 16 cm (6.4") tall. It is in excellent condition. This teapot was designed to the competition at Rörstrand where many designers at the factory was told to design the coolest and most special teapot. Signe Persson-Melin was a Swedish designer and ceramic artist, known for her clean and functional design language. She studied at Konstfack and became one of Sweden’s most influential designers in ceramics and glass. For Rörstrand, she created the well-known teapot “The Chinese teapot”, distinguished by its harmonious proportions, clear lines, and thoughtful details. The teapot combines practical function with aesthetic simplicity, reflecting Persson-Melin’s design philosophy. The Chinese teapot has become a symbol of her ability to create timeless, user-friendly design that continues to be appreciated by collectors and design enthusiasts alike.
