About the Item

Excellent lifelike depiction of two upright bitterns, birds from the heron family, with stylised bundles of plants placed next to them for support on rounded meadow bases. Designer: JOHANN JOACHIM KAENDLER (1706 - 1775) chief sculptor at the Meissen manufactory from 1742 to 1775.
