About the Item
A large platter, bearing a single, central commemorative portrait of Naser al din Shah Qajar, the portrait facing slightly to the left (see companion platter facing slightly right, listed separately). The whole platter hand-painted in overglaze cobalt with leaf, floral and bird figures and parcel gilt.
This rare portrait platter was purchased as a wedding gift at the Grand Bazaar, Isfahan, in the 1950s.
Japanese porcelain, for the Persian Market.
This comes from a full, 72 piece service, largely unused and in very good to excellent condition. which will be listed in parts over the next weeks.
