About the Item

Piero Fornasetti Italian Racehorse Champions Plates, Great Italian Equestrian Champions, "Grandi Campioni Italian Del Galoppo, Circa 1950's. The plates, numbered consecutively from 1-6, are printed en grisaille and each depicting a famous Italian champion racehorse and jockey within a central rectangular panel surrounded by horse tack, boots and whips. 1- Ortello, 1926 2- Archidamia, 1933 3- Donatello II, 1934 4- Nearco, 1935 5- Niccolo Dell'Arca, 1938 6- Molvedo, 1956 On the reverse within a horseshoe is a description of each horse's victories over a green Arzberg mark.
