Rare collection of puce pink ground porcelain apothecary jars, circa 1880 we are proud to offer a rare collection of puce pink ground porcelain apothecary jars. With original handwritten labels marked from 1910-1920 but these jars are earlier in age and would typically have been used from the late 19th century. It’s believed that these jars are from A.J Gray Chemist and Pharmacist as one of the jars is labelled. Porcelain apothecary jars are pretty scarce, especially in this colour way (others in pink are known to be French), and as such these examples are of significant interest to not only collectors of medical history but also to those looking for a knockout decorative fix. These Jars vary in condition so please review the details outlined in the condition section. Dimensions in inches: H 7” x W 4” x D 4” Origin: English Condition: These jars vary in condition, 6 out of the 10 jars are in undamaged condition but still aged crackling of the porcelain as you would expect and discoloration in sections. There are light marks and chips across 6 of the good condition jars. The other 4 jars however are cracked in sections (aged repairs have taken place) to secure this damage in place. A few of the damaged 4 jars are missing porcelain sections due to damage and loss. Once of the jars although original does have a different flat top id as shown. Overall this collection is highly decorative and rare as a collection as this type of pharmacy archive usually appear in 1s and 2s rather than sets of 10 such as this. Once displayed even with the damaged 4 these jars look great, but we need to make it clear that 4 are damaged and have had repairs. Most of the jars still contain their original medical ingredients so please be aware of this when opening and purchasing this collection. It’s strongly suggested to review all the photos provided carefully and propose any questions where details are unclear before a purchase is made.
